Your cheapness can spoil my day

Cheapskates are there, everywhere.

Their cheapness reflects not in the clothes they wear or the purchases they make. It does not show in the car they drive or the bank balances they hold. You are not likely to realize they are cheapskates just by looking at them. In many ways they look normal until they speak with you. And then out spills the very depths of their absolute cheapness. In fact every one of their dealings will reflect their cheapness.

To themselves these people epitomize greatness. They seek fairness in stuff that someone like you or me would not even bother looking at a second time. They find injustice in the size of the cake they were offered or the cup of coffee served. No, nothing ever satisfies them. They are forever at war with the rest of the world and the rest of us have to stand by suffering the sheer silliness of their cheapness.

The first essential one needs to qualify as a cheapskate is the silliness of outlook. What most people with a regular outlook sees as normal, the cheapskate measures with a yardstick. They measure everything they get with their own chosen yardstick and give everything a value as per their own catalogue.

How do such people spoil other’s day with their behaviour? Unlike you or me, cheapskates enjoy the discomfiture of the other. They love to see others in pain and are ready to go all the way to spoil the time for others. They seek such miniscule matters to point out unfairness, such cases that a normal person would not even bother thinking about a second time.

There is an instance of a cheapie who actually put a measure on the number and status of those mourners who turned up on the event of his own mother’s demise in comparison with the people who turned up at the demise of a colleague’s father. This is the level to which cheapskates can stoop to.
