Human life is about what is done from the moment of waking to the moment he goes to sleep at night. Much has been said about routines and the need for discipline in using time. Early to bed, early to rise. Makes a man heathy, wealthy and wise is one of the sayings that kindergarten kids are taught. Schools of repute, with boarder facilities make a practice of training their wards the schedule.
So what is the importance of such practices? Human body has peaks and nadirs as does the tides and ebbs in an ocean. Every body peaks at certain times of a day and performs best during these intervals. Likewise there are period in a day when the body is at its least productive. This is the reason why people, through the course of human development has structured the day in the most productive way. This creates a rhythm in human life and makes it function the best.
Today’s world has upset these patterns. Late sleepers are common, even among young children. Television time was the initial disruption in the daily schedule. Children started spending time in front television, which in later years became computer, social media and mobile phone time. Today’s child spend time posting nonsense on his/her FB pages, trying to get like and shares from peers. He has no idea of the impact this has, not only on his character, but on his physiology too.
Today, true creativity has taken a back seat. Whatever is done is done with the intent of impressing others. There is no time spent on reflection, recollection and reshaping. There are no input that is new.
In short, life has confined itself to a computer or mobile phone page. It has no vision beyond that and time makes ono sense to these geekish netizens.
