Ticking Away……

Time is what we want most, but what we use worst – William Penn

Time…One commodity that the mightiest and the meek have in equal quantity. The moments stretch just as much for you as it does for me. The greatest equalizer of all.

So if it is the same for all, why does it work differently for different people?  It is the quality of time that makes it different. And the quality of your time depends on how you use it.

We keep talking of a glorious past and a bright future. It is very rarely that we hear of a good or bad present. It is almost as if NOW doesn’t exist. There is a marked reluctance to account for the present, a reluctance that stems from lack of real accountability. What do we do now, what do we hope to achieve with the time we spend now, how do we account for it? In fact the present is the only commodity that we have. There is never a better time than now.

Change, a word always related with time. Time changes everything. Whether the change is a good one or a bad one depends on how actively we intervened in the changes that influence our lives and those around us. Sitting back, watching the changes take over, leaves you a spectator, with no say in it.

‘They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.” is a quote that says it all. You change time when you give time a value and a purpose. Even the time spend on relaxation should be to serve the purpose. When time get a value it becomes a finite commodity, to be used wisely. Keeping tabs on this is perhaps the best planned expenditure and will turn out to be the most lucrative investment.

This in no way is an advocacy for unplanned and thoughtless action. It is only an alert for wasted time.
