Your ego is your conscious mind, the part of your identity that you consider your “self.” If you say someone has “a big ego,” then you are saying he is too full of himself. This is the how Google define ego. In short ego is just the awareness of oneself. When egos get bloated, then the person has too much of himself to see that he sees nothing else. The bigger the self gets the lesser he sees the world around.
So what is the problem if someone gets a bloated ego? Why does it make him unacceptable to much of the society? The bloated self, occupies more space than the body actually needs. Though he sees less of the world than others, he expects to be seen by all. Though his understanding of others is very less, he expect the world to know and respect him. In fact he live in the centre of a fake solar system, where he alone is the sun and everyone revolves around him. However he ought to remember that, unlike the sun no one gravitates toward him nor does he shed light on anyone. Rather he is more of a black hole, which everyone avoid and if someone got close enough, they get destroyed totally.
Egotistic behaviour starts from ignorance of a wide spectrum of things and a narrow mind. The most important factor that he forgets is that humans are all mortal and everyone has limitations. No one is a superman and most importantly no one is indispensable. Craving for respect, never fetches it – rather your attempts will normally do just the opposite. And just as in a balloon, it it can be inflated, it can be deflated with a pinprick.
Don’t be a balloon, be one among the crowd and do your best for the society.
