We have all been losers at least once in life. I am yet to see the superman who won every time. In fact most of us have lost more than we have won.
So then, why is it that we all have the thumbs up for the winner and a pitying wry smile for the loser. True we get into contest with the intent to win. We give it our best and sometimes we win, sometimes not….
The nature of contest dictates that if there is a winner, there has to be a loser. There just cannot be winners if there are no losers. Losing is just the other side of the winning coin. Losing happens even in non-contest situations. When our best laid plans fail, we deem it a failure, and brand ourselves losers. Leaving us with one great, unfailing option. Stop trying!
Losing has many sides to it. We all are bundles of talents in different ways and in varying quantities. No two people are made the same way, within or without. We imbibe and deliver differently. Moreover, we even deliver differently on different days, maybe, even in the space of the same day. There are no training plans that ensure a win, no plans to beat the unforeseen.
However there is one side to failure that is a sure fire success. The act of disheartening the loser. There are elements among us who thrive on driving the stake into the loser’s heart. The sadist lurking in the shadows everywhere, has a field day in disheartening and discouraging the loser of the day. He flourishes on putting defeatism in the heart, sowing doubt and uncertainty in the minds of the person who tries.
What drives these sadist? One look at these sadists and their records, usually one thing stands out. These are people who seek company in misery. These are people who have never tried, or have quit in fear of sheer laziness.
True losers are those who quit. They are those for whom, the challenges of life are too fearful to take on. He who tries is never a loser. He is jus We all are bundles of talents in different ways and in varying quantities. No two people are made the same way, within or without. We imbibe and deliver differently
t on the way to being a winner……invariably.
