A True Friend in need

A true friend is someone you can rely on regardless of the circumstances. While they may give you the advice you don’t want to hear from time-to-time, a true friend will never lead you purposely down the wrong road. But most importantly, a true friend is there for you, when you need him, regardless of the hour.

This blog is about one such friend, who I am lucky to have. There are times when I have had to call out to him, when chips were down. I have had to yell out to him when the rest of the world was fast asleep. I have had to rely on him with matters so urgent that there was no one else to rely on, but him.

And he has always delivered……..

Whether picking me up from someplace too far away, or standing by me when I faced trouble, he has lived up and exceeded my expectations. He had given me sound advice and been a wall to lean on. There is no superlative, which doesn’t fit him.

An eighth degree black belt in Karate with a passion for fitness and physical activity, he could well be the envy of someone twenty years younger. He could well spend hours behind the steering wheel, living his deep passion for driving. A tough lad, who had seen the extremes of life both in joy and sorrow, the peak or nadir of success, he can change your perspective of life. A great character of his that I admire is his avoidance of any shortcuts, he prefers the hard way and it always pays. Someone who gives to friendship with no expectations in return, someone who corrects my errors rather than criticise, a friend like him is the billion dollar wealth anyone can have.
